I developed a love for drawing at a young age, while doodling on sketch pads in the backseat during many long rural Nebraska car rides. As a teenager I was exposed to the Internet (Geocities) and that love for drawing transitioned to the computer screen. First, by making fan sites for my favorite bands or activities. But by the time I graduated high school, I was designing websites professionally and soon earned an award for Nebraska Youth Entrepreneur of the Year.
In 2002, I went on to expand my skills at Collins College in Tempe, Arizona, a technical design school. My studies focused on marketing, design, and basic web development. Since graduating in 2005 with a B.A. in Visual Communication, I've had the pleasure of working with a variety of great companies including Pearson, CBS, Elluminate, and DirectBuy. But I would have to say that my most valuable experience has probably been working for a time at a local print shop, learning the back-end production process. Still, I continually research new trends and technologies while also taking time to develop my skills.
